Smoothie Recipes
I have got together some yummy smoothie recipes; these are my favourites…..
When I have more time I will experiment some more in the kitchen and come up with more smoothie recipes.

Apricot & Ginger Smoothie
Serves 1-2
3 tbsp Greek Style Yogurt
12 Dried Apricots
4 pieces of Chinese Stem Ginger in syrup
4 Ice cubes
Soak the dried apricots in water overnight. Add the apricots, ginger and ice cubes to a blender, also add a tablespoon of both the apricot flavoured water and syrup from the ginger. Blend until the ice cubes break down. Finally add 3 tablespoons of yogurt. Give it a final blend and pour into a glass to serve.
Banana & Peanut Butter SmoothieServes 1-23 tbsp Low Fat Yogurt
2 ripe Bananas
1 tbsp Peanut Butter
1 tbsp Honey
Prepare the bananas well in advance, chop into small pieces and put in a freezer inside a plastic container, and leave for at least 3 hours but preferably overnight.Remove the bananas from the freezer and allow to thaw slightly.Put the bananas into the blender and add the peanut butter and honey.Blend until the mixture has become smooth then add 3 tablespoons of yogurt. Give it a final blend and pour into a glass to serve.
Blueberry & Banana Smoothie
Serves 1-2
3 tbsp Low Fat Natural Yogurt
1 small punnet Blueberries
2 Bananas
Prepare the Blueberries, wash them and place in a freezer for 3 hours, but preferably overnight.Put the frozen blueberries in to a blender, and then add the banana by chopping it up into chunks. Give this a good blend before adding 3 tablespoon of yogurt.Give it a final blend and pour into a glass to serve.
California Smoothie
Serves 1
1 tbsp Greek Style Yogurt
1 good size banana
2 Oranges ~ Juice of the oranges
1 tsp honey
3 cubes of ice
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend to a smooth consistency.
Fruit and Vanilla smoothie
Serves 2-4
450g Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt,
2 Apples,
2 Bananas,
20 Grapes,
12 Strawberries,
Tin of peaches in fruit juice
1 cup Orange juice
Wash hands and then the wash fruit. Cut, core and slice the apples.Peel and slice bananas into large pieces. Stem the grapes, then stem and cut the strawberries in half.Open the tin of peaches, cut half into pieces save the other half and the juice.Put the fruit into smoothie maker and mix. Add the orange juice and the fruit juice from the peaches and finally add the low fat yogurt with vanilla. Mix and smooth all ingredients. Pour into glass, decorate then enjoy.
Iced Coffee
Serves 2-4
4 cups of espresso coffee
1 ½ pints Whole milk
2 tbsp Double Cream
4 cups ice
Cocoa powder to sprinkle
Cinnamon to sprinkle
Allow coffee to cool to room temperature.Combine all the ingredients, except the sprinklers, in a blender and whizz until the ice is like crunchy snow.Pour into glass, decorate then enjoy
Mango & Strawberry smoothie
Serves 1-2
3 tbsp Low Fat Natural Yogurt
1 small ripe Mango
5 Strawberries
1 Lime
Prepare the Strawberries well in advance of making the smoothie. After washing them, hull and quarter. Place in a plastic container or plastic bag and put them in a freezer for at least 3 hours, but preferably overnight.Cut the flesh of the mango into chunks and put in a blender. Squeeze over the juice of the lime and add the frozen strawberries.Blend the fruit until the frozen strawberries have broken down. Add 3tbsp of yogurt then give the smoothie a final blend and pour into a glass to serve.
Peach Smoothie
Serves 2
3 tbsp Low Fat Yogurt
2 ripe Bananas
1 tin of Peach slices in fruit juicePrepare the bananas well in advance, chop into small pieces and put in a freezer inside a plastic container, and leave for at least 3 hours but preferably overnight.Remove the bananas from the freezer and allow to thaw slightly.Put the bananas into the blender and add the peach slices with their fruit juice. Blend until the mixture has become smooth then add 3 tbsp of low fat yogurt, Give it a final blend and pour into a glass to serve.
Strawberry & Banana Smoothie
Serves 1-2
3 tbsp Low Fat Natural Yogurt
2 Bananas
5-8 Strawberries
Prepare the Strawberries well in advance of making the smoothie. After washing them, hull and quarter. Place in a plastic container or plastic bag and put them in a freezer for at least 3 hours, but preferably overnight.When the strawberries are ready, chop the bananas into chunks and drop in a blender, then add the frozen strawberries. Blend the fruit until it becomes a smooth mixture, you may need to stir it from time to time. Then add 3tbsp of low fat yogurt, give it a final blend Pour in a glass to serve
